PHOTOVOLTAICS
Thermographic testing for solar parks and associated electrical infrastructure, with a focus on Germany, Austria and the Alpine region.
Our focus in the field of photovoltaics is on the thermographic testing of large PV systems and solar parks – especially where large areas, high system density and technical complexity require a structured and scalable approach.
In addition to the aerial testing of large module areas, we also evaluate relevant electrical components from the ground – precisely those areas that go beyond what many pure drone service providers in the PV sector offer.
professional - compliant with standards - reliable

Focus on solar parks >1 MWp
Our main focus is on ground-mounted photovoltaic systems from 1 MWp upwards.
The following are particularly relevant:
-
large-scale photovoltaic open-field systems in the utility-scale segment
-
Systems where scalable, automated drone thermography and complementary ground testing together offer clear advantages
-
Projects in which the electrical peripherals are also to be evaluated at regular intervals
The combination of drone thermography for large module areas and targeted thermographic testing from the ground enables a more comprehensive assessment than standard flights alone.
More than just module screening
Many PV thermography companies focus solely on the aerial detection of module anomalies. However, a holistic assessment of all electrical components of a PV system is crucial.
We therefore deliberately rely on a combination of:
-
radiometric drone thermography for large module areas
-
supplementary testing of selected components from the ground
-
structured evaluation and comprehensible reporting
This creates a clear advantage for operators, EPCs, investors and technical decision-makers:
-
greater technical depth
-
fewer interfaces
-
uniform assessment
-
reliable decision-making bases across related plant areas
Recurring inspections & inspection intervals
For large PV systems, structured comparative tests over time are particularly interesting in order to identify anomalies early, evaluate developments and prioritize measures effectively:
-
Module surfaces can be efficiently inspected by drone at regular intervals.
-
Electrical peripherals such as inverters, sub-distribution boards, connection technology and other relevant components can be additionally assessed from the ground at separate intervals.
This results in a testing concept that is based on plant size, operating strategy and technical relevance – instead of treating all areas the same across the board.

Relevance for operation & maintenance
Thermographic inspections of photovoltaic systems create added value primarily when they are scalable, technically sound, and relevant to decision-making . Our services provide support, in particular, for:
-
early detection of thermal abnormalities
-
Prioritization of maintenance and repair measures
-
Evaluation of large module areas and relevant electrical components
-
structured documentation for operators, investors and insurers
-
Comparability in recurring audits
Reports & Decision-Making Basis
Our analyses are designed not only to make thermal anomalies visible, but also to place them in a clear technical and economic context. This results in:
-
structured decision-making bases
-
consistent assessments across large facilities
-
Reliable evidence for operation, maintenance and insurance
-
comparable documentation for recurring audits
The result is test reports that not only document but also provide a clear basis for technical and economic decisions.
Area of application
Our focus is on projects in Germany, Austria and the German-speaking Alpine region.
We support international projects upon request.
